The wine producer Kugler from St. Margarethen in Burgenland (Austria) thought about helping Nepales e people by selling his wine. Thus an extraordinary cooperation between wine company and NHB started successfully with the project “Nepal wine”. The accidental encounter and the heart-warming stories told by NH-Lichtenegg set the ball rolling. “The poverty and prevailing suffering the mountaineers from Lichtenegg told us about first-hand moved us deeply and made us start the project” said Josef Kugler, wine producer and managing director of the vineyard Kugler. He and the NH Lichtenegg, especially Erwin and Max Stix and Michael Lechner, developed the idea and designed a label with special design just for the project. The NHB/ NH Lichtenegg and the vineyard Kugler can look back to an eight-year-lasting friendship and successful cooperation.
The project “Nepal wine” includes two different kinds of wine - Sauvignon Blanc as representative of white wines and Zweigelt as representative of reds. A great deal of bottles have already been sold, which sup ported a lot of poor people and families in Nepal.
€1 of every bottle of wine sold directly supports the NHB and their projects. Through their wine-selling project, Kugler wine company contributes financially to the construction of a hospital and a primary school and several other minor projects. “We are very happy about being able to help the poor in Nepal and we are proud of the long-lasting cooperation and friendship with NHB. We are looking forward to the years to come with further good ideas” said the Kugler family.
