Financial support for other social projects

Don-Bosco-Schule

Don-Bosco-School is just around the corner of our children’s home. We have been supporting the school financially for many years. Father Vincent, an Indian Father of the religious order of Franz Sales, is the promoter of the school project. He built both this school and an attached vocational school with the financial support of many donations from abroad over the last couple of years.

Mary-Ward-School

Another school which is supported by NHB is Mary-Ward-School. 280 children living in the shanty towns nearby receive education, food and medical care in this charity school which is led amongst others by German Sisters. Our yearly financial support enables the school’s admission and supply of fifty children.

Charity pharmacy in Bir-Hospital, Kathmandu

Kamal Rupakheti, manager of the charity pharmacy called Christina’s Dispensary in Bir Hospital, shows us how the pharmacy works. Meanwhile, a computer system has been installed which records the patients’ personal dates. In 2009, 36,100 patients came to the pharmacy, which meant expenses of just fewer than 42,000 Euro for medical drugs. 20,000 Euro of this huge amount of money is sponsored by NHB every year. The German-Nepali-Aid-Organization in Stuttgart, which financed the project alone until 2007, pays for all expenses NHB doesn’t cover. Further financial support has already been granted for the next couple of years by NHB.
