June 2017 – Now it’s all about colour

Having five storeys it will be one of the biggest schools around. Although the walls shine in the new yellow meanwhile, a lot remains to be done. As new furniture is still missing, the old school furniture has been inspected for reuse. Apart from this exception the school building will be newly equipped to reach the latest standard. If everything continues to go on like planed, the inauguration of this impressive school building will be in October 2017.

Construction progress 2017

Right before the completion of the school in Sanusiruwari, the devastating earthquake shook the district of Sindhupal and damaged the nearly completed school enormously. What a wonder that the three-storey building at the front side respectively five-story building at the backside hadn’t collapsed.

After intensive examination of the statics by a commissioned architecture firm the green light was given for renovation. During their visit at the construction site in November 2016, the three members of NHB were able to gain an insight into the repair work. All pillars, especially the corner pillars, have immensely been fortified and the classroom walls newly erected.

The repair work is going on well and thus the children in Sanusiruwari hope to move into their new school in summer 2017.

Laying of the foundation stone

The foundation stone of the new school in Sanosiruwari was laid on 17th Sept 2013. It lies in the District Sindhupalchok, a region 80 km north-east of Kathmandu, where most of the NHB-schools are.

Numerous visitors, young and old, pupils and representatives of politics and education attended the ceremonious festivity and contributed to the fact that it became a day of celebration.

After the completion of the school building in 2015, around 500 pupils will receive education at „Shree Siddhi Ganesh Higher Secondary School“.
